We all know how it goes. January 1st rolls around and everyone is tired of stuffing their face with turkey dinner and delicious pastries (don't take it personal, I did it too!). So we make it our New Year's Resolution to start exercising again. But somewhere along the way, we all get discouraged. So I'm here to offer you some encouragement!
In my opinion, half the battle that comes along with exercise is looking the part. Who wants to go to the gym looking like they just rolled out of bed. You may think it will help get you out of the door at 6 A.M., but I'd venture to say that looking forward to cute gym clothes is just as much encouragement as staying in your warmed up pj's!
If you're wearing your best gym clothes, you'll want to stay at the gym longer to show them off, and keep coming back to try more cute outfit combinations. It really can be that simple! Of course you have to take care of the exercise part. And to that part I say: endorphin's!
Another tip: do exercises you like to do. If you don't like to run, don't run. If you like going for bike rides or taking your dog for a stroll, make that your exercise. Exercising has to be fun, otherwise you'll get bored with it after a week!
Last but not least, music can be a great motivator. So here are a few of my favorite tunes that will keep you going on that elliptical:
1. MIA - Bad Girls
2. Beyonce - Love on Top
3. Florence & the Machine - Only if For a Night
4. Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
5. Janelle Monae - Tightrope
6. Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - We Speak No Americano
