We're in the motherland!! It feels good to be back home after being away for just about a year and a half. It's just too long to not see family and it makes for a lot of catching up. Which has been successfully accomplished!
One thing I really wanted to do while we were in Holland was to visit Hotel New York again. This is the exact spot where immigrant ships departed from to travel to America. This connection was named Holland-Amerika Lijn in 1896, connection Rotterdam with New York City. This also happens to be where my ancestors departed from in search for a new adventure in 1892. Cool right?!
When I created this blog just about a year ago, my husband cleverly came up with the name Holland-Amerika Line, in honor of this very place! So it seemed fit to snap a few pics.
Hope you're all enjoying your summer!
